Comfortable, one-roomed pub with
a huge, well kept beer garden to the rear and a newly refurbished patio
area. Friendly staff serve a decent pint. There are usually 2 guest cask ales on a week, normally with one from a micro. The pub has a 'try before you buy' policy. The Hearty serves real homemade food, can offer daily newspapers, a wide selection of pub and board games, 2 dart boards and a floodlight petanque piste in the large beer garden, which can be hired out for private functions. Tuesday night is poker night, free to play, with beginners welcome, league format starts 8.30. Regular charity events are held for local organisations such as Caudwell House and The Notts & Lincs Air Ambulance (Raising nearly £8000 in three years). |
