Beer Festival 2023

Newark 26th Beer Festival

Castle Grounds, Newark.

Sold Out!

So many of you came to visit us on Friday and Saturday and had a great time,

we have sadly run out of beer so will not be open on Sunday. See you next year!

Friday 26th May to Sunday 28th May 2023

In late May the Newark Beer & Cider Festival is back for its 26th year and this time returns to the site of the first two ever Newark Beer Festivals, Newark Castle Grounds. It’s a fabulous, iconic location shadowed by Newark’s historic castle and very close to the town centre and it’s exciting to be going back there. The three-day event will showcase 100 real ales and 40 ciders, many from local and regional breweries. We will also have a ‘Craft Beer’ bar from Just Beer, wine, gin and fizz courtesy of Ann et Vin, some delicious food outlets and loads of great live music.

Opening hours

Friday 26th May – 10:30 to 22:30

Saturday 27th May – 10:30 to 22:30

Sunday 28th May – 12:00 to 16:00

Tickets

The entry fee will get you £5 of beer tokens to start you off, as well as a complimentary glass and programme.

Members: £12 – weekend pass included

Non-Members £15 – weekend pass upgrade: £5

No tickets are for sale prior to the day so entry is on the door on the day. Please note this year’s festival will be cashless so card payments only. Strike out beer token cards will be available for the purchase of beer and cider once you have used up the ones you get as part of your entry fee.
We operate Challenge 25 and please bear in mind that there may be queues at busy times but we will get you into the festival as quickly as we can. CAMRA members receive extra benefits as outlined above so it’s well worth becoming a member prior to the festival or you can join on the day.

Children and well-behaved dogs (kept on a short lead) are allowed on site until 6pm. Assistance dogs are allowed on site at all times.

Getting there

The Castle Grounds are within a few hundred metres of Newark Castle station and just a short walk from the town centre and Newark Northgate station. There are a number of public car parks in the area though we recommend you travel to us on foot or by public transport so you can enjoy a drink or two. There are public bike racks just outside the site if you want to come by bicycle.

Festival Charity

Our chosen charity this year is The Children’s Bereavement Centre which is celebrating its 20th birthday this year. It is a local registered charity providing early intervention support for children and young people, age 3-18, who are experiencing life-changing trauma due to the death or terminal-illness of someone they love. Based in Newark the charity has venues across Nottinghamshire and has been providing its unique range of specialist support in Nottinghamshire and parts of Lincolnshire for 16 years. During that time, they have helped thousands of children and their families and years later they remain the only specific specialist bereavement service for 3-18 year olds in the area.
