Newark CAMRA’s Pub of the Year 2011, The Prince Rupert has come a close runner-up in the Nottinghamshire round of the CAMRA National POTY. Full results:

The Southwell ‘Idependent’s Day’ beer festival returns this year and is being held on the weekend of 1st-3rd July along the ‘Sunset Strip’ by the three pubs; the Bramley Apple, Hearty Goodfellow and Old Coach House.

Providing over 50 Real Ales between them, plus real cider, good food and various entertainment over the weekend.

Just Beer Micropub was nominated for a certificate of merit by Newark CAMRA member Dave Moulds.
The presentation will take place at Just Beer Micropub on Monday 30th May at 3pm.

The bi-annual LocAle and Weinfest, held in the Castle grounds, comes round again this year on 17th – 19th June. Organised by the Town Council, this event showcases 7 wine growers from Breisgau and around 20 LocAles sourced from within a radius of 20 miles from the venue. The LocAle tent will be run by Newark CAMRA. The event also offers a full schedule of entertainment.

The last event was a sell out and saw glorious weather all weekend. Whilst we can’t guarantee the weather, we can assure you of another great event. Full details and the final beer list can be seen on the LocAle & Weinfest website.

The Newark Beer Festival is almost upon us again. This years, the 16th, runs from Fri 27th – Sun 29th May (Fri-Sun). Approx 160 beers plus ciders, perry and country wines.  There is a daily quiz and full entertainment proramme except friday afternoon, designated quiet session.

£6 entry all sessions, Card-carrying members £3 all sessions.

The Just Beer Micropub in Newark is holding its first mini beer festival to coincide with the Newark Beer Festival, and will run from Thu 26th – Mon 30th May. Around 25 beers will be available at all times, either from handpump or directly from the cellar, ensuring perfect serving temperature on all beers.
