joins Newark CAMRA in celebrating their gold award for the
best display in the food hall at this year's Newark & Notts
County Show, which was held on the 12th & 13th of May.
The CAMRA bar, appearing for its third consecutive year,
featured 30 beers from 10 local breweries and offered a
mild, stout, bitter and cask-conditioned lager at all times.
Chairman Dominic Heneghan, seen holding the solid silver
trophy, said "It is encouraging how many people are
genuinely interested in finding these quality beers once
they know they exist. Hopefully they will ask their local to
stock them when they next visit".
The bar, which also acts as a teaser for the Newark beer
fest a fortnight later, was well attended and the branch got
through 19 firkins over 10 hours. They also signed up 6 new
members. |
